Broker's Comments

The Fantasi 44 is a superb cruising yacht with a pilothouse, perhaps the most stylish pilothouse yacht on the market in its size class, designed by Gabriel Heyman, who is an expert at combining high functionality with elegant lines and excellent sailing characteristics. The Fantasi 44 is manufactured by the renowned Jacobssons Båtbyggeri in Källviken on the Swedish west coast and is a very well-built yacht down to the smallest detail.

Fantasi 44, VILLOU, was delivered in 2001 to her first owner and was purchased in 2006 by her current (second) owner. The yacht has primarily been family-sailed in Nordic waters and has made one trip to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.

The layout offers a pleasant open pilothouse saloon with seating and a table, providing a fantastic view. To starboard of the saloon is the inner steering position and navigation table, along with plenty of storage space. There is an aft cabin with a double bed and a single bed, with access to the aft toilet. The spacious kitchen is located to port midship. To starboard of the kitchen is a ‘library’ with a sofa, bookshelf, and cabinets. The forward cabin has a V-berth and a separate toilet/shower. The yacht offers excellent storage space. The interior is made of teak and is crafted to the highest standards by the skilled boat builders at Jacobssons Båtbyggeri.

Fantasi 44, VILLOU has a conventional mast with a single-reef line boom and two forestays with a furling genoa and a furling jib. The teak deck is in good condition for its age. At the stern, there is a stainless-steel frame with solar panels, a wind generator and various antennas. Much of the electronics have been recently updated. The engine is a Yanmar 75 hp, which, together with the oversized bow thruster, makes the yacht easy to handle when maneuvering in tight harbours.

VILLOU has always been winter-stored under current ownership at Bröderna Jacobson and has been well cared for, serviced and continuously updated in the best way possible by a caring owner that put emphasis on keeping his yacht safe and reliable.

Owner's Comments

Our journey with S/Y VILLOU started in November 2006 and has been nothing short of extraordinary. This remarkable vessel has carried us across the Atlantic from Trinidad, through the Azores, and to Sweden in 2007. Beyond that epic voyage, she has been our faithful companion through countless adventures; from the serene waters of England and Scotland to the rugged beauty of the Orkney Islands, Faire Isle, and Shetland. We’ve navigated the majestic Norwegian coast all the way to the North Cape, explored numerous destinations in the North Sea, and sailed the entire expanse of the Bothnian Sea, including the charming shores of Finland, Åland, and the Baltic States.

Aboard S/Y VILLOU, we’ve always felt a profound sense of comfort, safety, and coziness. Her elegant design and exceptional seaworthiness have not only provided us with a reliable sanctuary at sea but have also garnered admiration from sailors and non-sailors alike. The spontaneous compliments and engaging conversations we’ve had with fellow enthusiasts in various harbors have filled us with immense pride as her owners.

For over a decade, my wife and I spent 3-4 months each year at sea, experiencing the full spectrum of nature’s moods—from calm serenity to fierce storms, from pitch-dark nights to the ethereal midnight sun. Together, we’ve traversed bustling cities and remote fjords, reveled in sunny, breezy sails, and braved rain and fog. The contrast between the tidal rhythms while anchoring and the still waters of the Baltic Sea, where we could anchor against rocks and trees, has been a constant source of wonder.

S/Y VILLOU has granted us access to environments, islands, and outposts we might never have discovered otherwise. The countless natural wonders we’ve witnessed are beyond measure. As her owner, my ability to sail solo for months is a testament to the yacht’s exceptional capabilities. With recent upgrades in navigation, S/Y VILLOU stands ready to embark on voyages across all the world’s oceans, continuing to be our gateway to unparalleled adventures.
