The objective behind the successful design of the Najad 440 CC was to produce a luxurious, highly exclusive and outstanding sailing yacht that can be safely managed by a crew of just two people.
This was achieved through the collaboration of naval architects Judel/Vrolijk & Co, interior designer Rhodes Young and the skilled craftsmen at Najadvarvet, resulting in a groundbreaking and exceptional “world-class” yacht. The Najad 440 is equally at home on long ocean passages as it is enjoying more relaxed coastal cruising and island hopping.
The Najad 440 is available in two versions: AC (aft cockpit) and CC (center cockpit). KEINU is the CC version, delivered in 2006. This configuration provides a well-sheltered cockpit, ideal for offshore sailing, where all sail handling and instruments are within easy reach. The fixed windscreen together with the sprayhood offers excellent protection in all weather conditions.
The interior layout features a spacious owner’s aft cabin with double berths and a private en suite toilet with shower. The forward guest cabin also includes a double berth, en suite toilet with shower and generous storage space. A longitudinal, sea-going galley is positioned to port of the companionway, extending aft, while the navigation table with a comfortable seat is located directly to starboard of the entrance. The saloon is arranged with an L-shaped sofa to port and a straight sofa to starboard, an excellent layout for extended ocean voyages.
The interior is finished in selected mahogany, complemented by Jatoba floorboards and light-colored upholstery.
KEINU was originally sold in France. In 2014, she was purchased by a Swedish couple who sailed her back to her original home on the Swedish west coast. Between 2017-2024, KEINU has been used for family sailing in Scandinavia, mainly cruising the Stockholm archipelago.
The current owners left Sweden in the autumn of 2024 for a trip towards Mediterranean where they have spent the past two seasons. They have now decided that this enjoyable sailing chapter has come to an end, in order to focus more on family and grandchildren.
