Broker's Comments

This beautiful traditional Julle, an Orust built classic motor cruiser, was built in 1975 in Kungsviken by the renowned boatbuilder Holger Johansson, active in one of Sweden’s most historic regions for traditional wooden boat craftsmanship. Throughout much of the twentieth century, Kungsviken became closely associated with the construction of traditional Scandinavian working boats such as the Julle, where skills and knowledge were passed down through generations.

Holger Johansson belonged to the group of boatbuilders who mastered this craft completely and was well known for his exceptional workmanship, efficiency, and careful selection of high-quality materials. During his professional career, he worked both in Kungsviken and at several other respected yards along the Swedish west coast, building everything from small tenders to long distance Jullar and fishing vessels.

Boats of this type have historically served as versatile utility craft along the Swedish west coast. They are recognised for their rounded and reassuring hull shape, excellent carrying capacity, and fine seakeeping abilities, making them equally suitable for fishing, transport, working duties, and leisure use.

This yacht clearly shares heritage with the famous Långedragsjulle, a more developed long-distance variant offering improved cruising performance, stability, and load capacity, often adapted for engine propulsion and extended coastal passages. Built with oak planking on oak frames, the construction provides both strength and longevity, and with proper care this is a boat type that ages with remarkable dignity.

Approximately twenty years ago, EEYORE underwent a major rebuild and renovation, including the addition of her current wheelhouse. Since then, she has been carefully maintained and kept in very good condition. Today she is privately owned by a well-known Swedish boatbuilder, further underlining that upkeep and ongoing care have been carried out to a professional standard.

On board, she offers two berths, a small galley with freshwater tank, sink, refrigerator with freezer compartment, and a toilet with washbasin, making her well suited for simple overnight stays as well as longer day trips.

The engine installation consists of a Yanmar 40 hp diesel with exceptionally low running hours, fitted with a modern shaft system, providing a reliable and efficient solution within an otherwise classic setting.

This is a boat for the buyer who values authentic Nordic boatbuilding traditions, genuine materials, and timeless design rather than mass production. A charming and seaworthy Julle, combining maritime history with practical cruising today.

Owner's Comments

This is a truly successful Julle that we have used for many long voyages at sea. She is seaworthy, safe, and beautifully built. With the cockpit tent up, the cockpit becomes an exceptionally comfortable and sheltered space, perfect for spending long evenings onboard. The boat handles heavy weather very well offshore. Her weight gives a soft and steady motion through the waves, with a pleasant and reassuring roll. In my opinion, she is one of the finest jullar ever built on Orust.
