The larger Hallberg-Rassy yachts are excellent for those looking for a spacious, solid and beautifully designed classic bluewater cruiser. The 53’ was their flagship, designed by German Frers, with a total of 88 hulls built at their well known Swedish yard on the Island of Orust between 1992 – 2006, with a total of 88 hulls built. When the 53 was introduced, it was the flagship from the well know Swedish yard on the Island of Orust. The Hallberg-Rassy 53 is designed by German Frers.
Hallberg-Rassy 53 ALBATROSS was delivered in 1999 to its first Italian owner, who as far as we know used her mainly in the Mediterranean, where she was located when the current owning family bought the yacht in 2008. She has been used for family cruising in the area since.
ALBATROSS is equipped with a hard top which obviously offers great protection in cold and rainy weather but also gives great protection from the sun in warmer climates. The opening mid-window gives great ventilation. The mast and the two head sails are hydraulically operated, which makes it possible to sail the yacht and adjust the sails single handed.
Below decks, ALBATROSS has three cabins with a total of 7 berths. The owner’s aft cabin with en-suite heads/shower has a double berth and a single berth. There is a longitudinal galley on the port side and the navigation table is located to starboard of the entrance. The very spacious saloon has two sofas and an adjustable table. In front of the mast bulkhead there is a guest cabin with bunk beds, an additional heads/shower cabin and a forward guest cabin with a v-berth. As on all Hallberg-Rassy models, there is very good storage space throughout the yacht.
