The Sun Fast 3600 is a racer-cruiser designed by Daniel Andrieu, offering impressive performance and speed thanks to its light, powerful hull and large sail plan.
The yacht is built using advanced vacuum infusion technology for maximum strength and low weight, and is equipped with dual rudders and an L-shaped epoxy encapsulated iron/lead keel. The design measures bring large flexibility, and the yacht performs well for solo or double-handed sailing, as well as with full crew, either inshore or offshore.
Sun Fast 3600, GROOVIE is hull number 29, and she is optimized for offshore double handed racing, with several asymmetrical downwind sails, a fathead mainsail, and a complete racing package, including an extended retractable carbon fibre bowsprit and electrically adjustable rudder angles. The yacht is fully prepared for the 2025 racing season!
GROOVIE is more than just a high-performance racing yacht. She also offers comfortable accommodations with two aft cabins, a spacious saloon, and a fully equipped mini-galley.
The ergonomic cockpit ensures easy handling, making the yacht ideal for both competitive racing and family outings.
The GROOVIE project marked my return to high-performance offshore racing. My goal was to create an affordable but uncompromised racing experience. Initially, I started with a 3200, but it didn’t meet my expectations. Upgrading to the 3600 proved to be the right solution. From the start, I knew that adjustments were necessary for the Baltic Sea’s unique weather conditions, so I reached out to some of the best minds in the sail racing community for advice. The result of this optimization work was a resounding success.
The number of regatta wins and podium finishes is hard to count. GROOVIE’s true strength lies in her consistent high performance, regardless of weather conditions.
