ANNA is hull number 186 – the very last Maxi 1050 ever built – and she has been owned by the same family since new. We rarely use the phrase “in excellent condition”, but in this case, it is truly justified.
Since delivery, ANNA has been meticulously cared for, and it shows in every detail. All onboard equipment is in superb condition, and maintenance has always been carried out with both precision and foresight. Deck gear and running rigging have been continuously upgraded and optimized, and the yacht has always been stored indoors during the winter months.
With new stripes, polished topsides, and a fully serviced engine, ANNA is close to the condition she was in when first delivered – almost like new. She has been sailed by a passionate sailing family who have equipped her with 3DL sails from North Sails, Dyneema halyards, and a custom-made bowsprit with gennaker fittings. The underwater hull has recently been treated with Coppercoat, providing long-lasting protection and minimal maintenance. Onboard, you will also find autopilot, plotter, and AIS, ensuring safe and enjoyable sailing in all conditions.
The Maxi 1050 is one of Pelle Petterson’s most successful designs – a yacht that perfectly combines performance, comfort, and Scandinavian craftsmanship. Introduced in 2002, it quickly became a favourite among discerning sailors for its impressive sailing abilities, spacious interior, and smart, functional layout. With its sleek hull lines and modern sail plan, the 1050 delivers exceptional upwind performance and a refined sailing experience. As with all of Petterson’s creations, the elegant design is matched by practical solutions that make life onboard both easy and enjoyable. The cockpit is generous and well protected, and the integrated swim platform is a welcome feature for both comfort and safety.
Below deck, the Maxi 1050 is beautifully finished in mahogany, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The layout is well balanced, offering two comfortable double cabins – one forward and one aft. The saloon is open and social, with excellent storage in cupboards and shelves along both sides. To port, an L-shaped sofa surrounds the dining table, while a straight settee to starboard provides additional seating or a sea berth on passage. The forward-facing navigation station is positioned conveniently to starboard, just by the companionway, and opposite lies the practical L-shaped galley with easy access to the cockpit. A bright, well-planned bathroom with a wet locker is located aft.
If you are looking for a Maxi 1050 that truly stands out, ANNA represents a unique opportunity.
When we started looking for our next boat, we narrowed it down to three models – a Maxi, a Dehler, and an X-Yacht. The Dehler was quickly ruled out as the headroom was too low. Choosing between the Maxi and the X was more difficult; on paper, the X had slightly better sailing performance, which was tempting. But in the end, the Maxi won – thanks to her looks, the feeling of quality, and that overall sense of craftsmanship that only a truly well-built yacht can offer.
Lotta was immediately drawn to the design – a beautiful boat both inside and out, with classic lines and thoughtful details. The large cockpit, with its closeness to the water, creates a wonderful connection to the sea. Inside, the boat feels warm, cosy, and homely, with impressively clever storage solutions. We visited all three models when they were new, so our decision was well-informed.
Time and time again, she has proven to be the right choice. The sailing performance is outstanding – she’s fast, responsive to trim, and great fun to sail in all conditions, especially when you make full use of the sail wardrobe. It’s a yacht you can comfortably live aboard for weeks and sail long distances with ease. The galley layout, with its clever fold-up bar counter, has been perfect. The swim platform and the luxury of a warm shower after a dip in the sea feel like pure luxury. The Maxi is safe and predictable under sail – yet quick! She almost steers herself, making sailing both relaxing and enjoyable. Dropping anchor in a quiet bay after a day at sea – that’s pure magic.
After nearly 20 fantastic years with our Maxi 1050, it’s time for a new chapter in life. We couldn’t have been happier with this yacht – she has given us safety, joy, and countless memories at sea. One of our strongest sailing memories was in the summer of 2015, sailing from Öckerö to Anholt. We set off early in the morning and soon found ourselves surfing along on a fresh reach. The wind picked up, the speed built, the trim was perfect – and the hours flew by. 15 m/s, total control, adrenaline pumping, goosebumps. Those are the kind of sailing days you never forget.
