The Polar 55 is a high-tech performance cruiser designed by iYacht and produced by Polar Yachts. This successful collaboration has resulted in a fast yacht with innovative solutions usually found only on larger boats. The Polar 55 features a hydraulic system that manages the lifting keel and sail handling onboard. The hull and deck are vacuum laminated in epoxy, providing extra strength, which, combined with twin rudders, delivers top-class sailing performance. The cockpit is spacious, and twin steering pedestals offer a perfect view of the deck and sails. In the bow, there is a retractable anchor windlass and a sail locker that also accommodates all extra equipment. This yacht is equipped with retractable bow and stern thrusters to handle maneuvers in narrow marinas.
Like a superyacht, the Polar 55 has an interior bathed in natural light thanks to the large windows in the superstructure and Solimar deck hatches. In the bow, there is a luxurious Owner’s Cabin, equipped with an electrically adjustable double bed, retractable TV, and, of course, its own bathroom with a shower cabin. In the aft, guests are offered two double cabins with accompanying toilets. In the centre of the yacht are the social areas, a large L-shaped sofa, and two armchairs. The galley is longitudinal and well-equipped. Thanks to an electrical system with modern lithium batteries and an inverter, the equipment onboard can be operated with 220V. The galley includes an electric stove, 220V refrigerator and freezer, and a coffee machine.
The Polar 55, RUT VIII, has only had one owner. In collaboration with the designer and the shipyard, the owner has created the yacht of his dreams. With the experience and knowledge of many nautical miles, he decided to bring this project to completion. RUT VIII has been equipped with everything needed to create a unique yacht with impressive features. Important factors in this project were sailing performance combined with an easy life onboard. With the help of a hydraulic system, most functions are easily operated from the steering positions. A powerful power pack with lithium batteries handles the electrical needs onboard, and if needed, there is also an efficient generator. The deck equipment has been supplied by Harken, and she features stylish deck hatches from Solimar. The navigation equipment has recently been updated with new 16” plotters in the cockpit and includes radar, AIS, and satellite connectivity.
RUT VIII has had a good life and has been well taken care of by Br. Martinsson in Svineviken, who have managed serviced, maintenance, and provided indoor winter storage. She is ready to set out on new adventures.
