Broker's Comments

Now we are talking about a real Swedish classic – Solö Ruff (or Flush as it is also called) are probably one of the most coveted wooden classic boats made by the Swedish shipyards. As early as 1952, the production of these boats started at AB Örnmaskiner in Vimmerby, which later, after an acquisition, changed its name to the traditional Storebro Bruks AB.

The designer Einar Runius managed to create an immortal classic that has been produced for about 600 boats and sold with great success on the Swedish market – but also internationally. On the English-speaking market the model was sold under the name ‘Sea Chaser’ and in German, it was called ‘Adler Vorderkajütkreuzer’ or Adler Boot-Type Solö.

The model underwent several changes and there are 4 different versions with clear design signs that distinguish them. Most popular were versions III and IV, when the length and width of the hull increased, and the side windows got a new design with two windows in a nice sweeping line. On the version IV boats, the cockpit was mirrored and given a steering position on the port side.

The social space in the cockpit is unbeatable, even with today’s modern dimensions measured, and under the deck there is a spacious V-berth. The beautiful hull lines from Einar Runius’s construction really attract the eye and you get a lot of attention wherever you stylishly glide through the water.

This Solö Ruff Version IV, BEATA, has been with the current owner since the beginning of the 2000s. She has building number 805 and has undergone a tasteful renovation by Mats Snickare AB at Tjörn. As one of the finer Solö Ruff boats on the market, she has also been exhibited at boat shows in Gothenburg and along the west coast. After renovation, the boat has not been used much, the cushions that were manufactured in 2003 still have a new feel. The boat has changed engine to a Solé Diesel which gives it a comfortable cruising speed of 8-10 knots, and in the bow and stern there are water jet systems that make manoeuvring in narrow ports very easy. In the cabin, you sleep comfortably on the thick cushions – and under the extension plate there is a toilet with an associated septic tank. During the last 5 seasons, the boat has not been in the water and she is now waiting for a new owner in a warm shed.
