Broker's Comments

When Bavaria Yachts, one of the world’s largest shipyards, decided they wanted to offer something new to the market, they went about it very thoroughly. In close collaboration with sailors from all over the world, the Vision series was created. The results were boats with a completely new design, both on the outside and inside. The world’s leading design company, Farr Yacht Design, has very skillfully managed to create a good sailing yacht that is optimized for a comfortable life on board and long sailing trips.

Bavaria Vision 42 has two large cabins. In the bow the owner-cabin has a large double bed and en-suite toilet. The guests get their own cabin in the stern with a generously sized bed that can be divided into two or lefts as a king-size. Thanks to its layout, large windows and many deck hatches, the saloon is very bright and spacious. There is also great flexibility and with the help of the electrically adjustable table, you can convert the sofa into an extra bed. Even the double armchairs in the navigation area can be converted into sofas. The galley is split and provides very good support at sea and has good access to the fridge and freezer. On the starboard side you have a large toilet with a separate shower. Aft of this is a large stowage space that can also be accessed via the bench in the cockpit. The Vision series is created for an owner couple with their family or friends. You manage the sailing easily from one of the steering positions with ergonomic and well-thought-out placement of winches. The table in the cockpit is easily adjusted at the push of a button and guests can enjoy comfortable sofas or a large sun bed. In the stern, you can fold down the bathing platform and enjoy the sea.

Bavaria Vision 42, SIRIUS, is in excellent condition. She is very well equipped and features, among other things, a bow thruster, in-mast furling system, and the larger engine—everything to make sailing and handling as easy and safe as possible.

Her owner is sailing her from Sweden to Spain, and for this journey she was upgraded with a custom-made stainless steel targa arch with solar panels and davits, a lithium battery bank, a new inverter, and a watermaker. Below deck, she has been enhanced with a teak interior and all cabins are fitted with comfortable mattresses. The cockpit is fully cushioned, and the sprayhood features stainless steel frames and a grab rail. For colder days, there is a cockpit tent that can easily be converted into a Bimini for warmer conditions. Teak decking is fitted in the cockpit and on the bathing platform.

Are you dreaming of a sailing life in the Mediterranean or crossing the Atlantic? Here is the perfect choice for you.

The owner is currently sailing her along the Atlantic coast, and viewings can be arranged by appointment.

Owner's Comments

SIRIUS has been an exceptional yacht for us and has proven herself to be both comfortable and remarkably capable for long-term cruising and extended voyages. She combines the sailing performance and practicality of the Bavaria Vision series with a number of thoughtful upgrades that make her especially well suited for comfortable and independent cruising.

Since taking ownership, SIRIUS has carried us safely through many memorable journeys along the European coastline, including the passage from Sweden to Spain. Whether underway offshore, anchored in quiet bays, or enjoying life in marinas, she has always felt safe, spacious, and easy to handle.

One of the things we have appreciated most is how well balanced and manageable she is under sail. The furling rig, bow thruster, and larger Volvo Penta engine make handling simple even for a couple, while the bright and open interior creates an atmosphere that is both practical and welcoming.

We have also greatly appreciated owning a relatively modern yacht that has never been used in charter service, but only privately owned and carefully maintained throughout her life. This is reflected in her overall condition, onboard atmosphere, and the way she feels both under sail and below deck.

Ahead of our voyage south, SIRIUS was significantly upgraded to support comfortable long-term cruising and greater onboard independence. A custom-built stainless steel targa arch with integrated davits and solar panels was installed, together with a substantial lithium battery bank and a Victron inverter system. These upgrades transformed the onboard electrical capacity and made everyday life at anchor considerably more comfortable and self-sufficient. A watermaker was also installed, further enhancing her capability for extended cruising.

SIRIUS has been continuously cared for and upgraded throughout our ownership and remains in excellent condition. She is a yacht equally suited for Mediterranean cruising, Scandinavian waters, or longer offshore adventures, including Atlantic crossings.

For anyone dreaming of a comfortable and capable cruising yacht with modern upgrades and proven cruising history, SIRIUS represents a rare opportunity.
