Swan 46 is the second most built boat model from the Finnish shipyard Nautor Swan, no less than 109 boats were built during the years 1983 to 1997. With these facts it can be stated that the collaboration between designer German Frers and the shipyard was very successful. Swan 46 is a fantastic cruiser but has also taken home victories in the prestigious Rolex Swan European Regatta and Rolex Swan World Cup, the ultimate test for all Swan boats.
The lines on a Swan are very characteristic and it always guarantees a boat with incredible quality, well-thought-out details, safety and sailing pleasure. The boat is easily sailed with a small crew thanks to a well-dimensioned deck layout and excellent balance between sail and hull. Like other Swan models, her design and construction are on a different level compared to other production boats, something you experience and appreciate under tough conditions at sea.
This Swan 46, QUINDJAMMER, is in good condition. In recent years, she has, among other things, received a new standing rig, a new mainsail and sprayhood. The boat’s owner has kept her indoors in a warm shed in the winter and the maintenance has been handled professionally. She can be seen at Orust.
After buying the boat in Lymington, England, in September 2016, she sailed to Orust where she has had her home port in Kungsviken since then. In addition to a few trips to Norwegian Sørlandet, we have sailed mostly in Bohuslän. In 2019, my partner and I sailed out on a longer voyage, first over to Kristiansand in Norway, on to Dover in England and then south. With a stop in Portugal and finally to Cadis in Spain, it was time to turn around. We went up to Vilamoura in Portugal where the boat was allowed to rest on land during the winter. In March 2020 we flew back to Portugal to sail her home again, but there we were stuck for three months due to Corona. During this time we were not allowed to do anything but wait and make short day trips with the boat. On September 23, we moored her again at the dock in Kungsviken after a successful sailing home. It has been a great pleasure to sail with her and she has given us great security in all weathers. We have only been 2 people on board during the time of my ownership and she has been fantastic to live in. There have been many fantastic experiences and I hope that new owners will have as good memories as we have had with her.
