Broker's Comments

Hallberg-Rassy 54, designed by Germán Frers and built in 44 examples, is one of Hallberg-Rassy’s most sought-after models. Combining classic Scandinavian design with seaworthiness, comfort and well-balanced sailing characteristics, she is equally suited to coastal cruising and extended offshore passages. The beautifully crafted mahogany interior creates a warm and timeless atmosphere, while the protected centre cockpit and ergonomically designed deck layout provide a safe and comfortable working environment in a wide range of conditions.

Hallberg-Rassy 54, MAELDUIN was built in 2009 and delivered to her first owner in 2010. During her early years she was used only lightly for summer cruising in Scandinavian waters, always winter-stored indoors and professionally maintained by Martinssons Varv on Orust, Sweden.

Since being acquired by her current owner in the autumn of 2023, MAELDUIN has undergone an extensive upgrade program with a clear focus on functionality, reliability and blue water capability. The interior has been refined with a redesigned owner’s aft cabin featuring a centred double berth and new sprung mattresses, while the forward mid cabin has been opened and several additional improvements have enhanced both comfort and practicality.

The technical systems have been comprehensively upgraded. A new Victron lithium electrical system with solar panels and new AGM start and service batteries has been installed, together with a complete B&G navigation suite featuring Zeus 3S chart plotters at both helm and navigation station plus aft cabin. Communication and navigation equipment includes Starlink Performance Gen2, Predict Wind Datahub, Iridium GO’exec and AIS.

Additional upgrades include new bronze through-hull fittings, a new JP3 rudder bearing, Ultra anchor, bowsprit, Yamaha 9.9 hp outboard and a completely renewed underwater hull treatment, including sandblasting to bare laminate followed by a new epoxy system.

Ahead of the 2026 season, the boat was further upgraded with new safety equipment, an electric cooker, liferaft, pull-out refrigerator, folding passerelle, and new sheets, halyards and control lines.
The sail wardrobe features a custom-designed North Sails 3Di Ocean package, developed specifically for MAELDUIN in close collaboration between the current owner and North Sails. The inventory includes mainsail, genoa, staysail and a furling Helix gennaker, all designed to deliver excellent shape retention, durability and balanced sailing performance for offshore cruising. The sails remain in exceptionally fine condition for their age.

The engine, generator, watermaker, rig and hydraulic systems have been serviced regularly, most recently during the spring and summer of 2026. Following a cruising season in the Western Mediterranean, MAELDUIN was professionally winterised and maintained in Palma before returning to Copenhagen.

MAELDUIN represents an exceptionally well-prepared and thoughtfully upgraded example of the Hallberg-Rassy 54, offering documented ownership history, significant recent investment and a technical specification that makes her ready for new adventures, whether cruising Scandinavian waters or undertaking extended offshore passages.
