The Hallberg-Rassy 43 is a very successful model from the Swedish yard, based on the island of Orust. The 43 has all the typical Hallberg-Rassy benchmarks. It goes without saying that this is a well-built blue water cruiser. The interior floor is all on one level, there is a seagoing galley, a windshield, a rubbing strake to the hull, big engine, generous tankage and timeless beautiful lines with a natural grace.
The interior offers two spacious cabins; a double and a single berth in the aft cabin and a v-berth in the forward cabin. Both have their own heads with shower. The U-shaped galley is directly to starboard of the entrance and the navigation area is to port. In the saloon are two sofas and a solid table with foldable sides.
I was in Greece in 2013 doing some maintenance work on a Najad 570 when I first met the current (second) owner of the Hallberg-Rassy 43 PASSION. He had just bought it and I was invited to have a look at it. I still remember that I was impressed with her condition, she looked almost like new. She was very lightly used by her first owner.
The current owner continued to keep and sail PASSION in the Mediterranean until 2021, when he then sailed her back to Sweden (mainly single handed). Meanwhile in the Mediterranean, when the boat has not been sailing, she has been stored ashore under a full-covering canopy and has been taken care of in the best way. During the winter of 2021/2022, PASSION was serviced and taken care of by Orust Yacht Service and is now shining in a winter hall.
Hallberg-Rassy 43 is a great yacht whether you are looking to do long distance sailing or plan to sail along the coast. You will live comfortably onboard, the cockpit offers good protection even in windy and cold conditions and it is a yacht that is easy to handle by a small crew.
PASSION will soon be launched and ready for delivery from our dock in Henån in June 2022…
