The Nauticat 40 was designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built by Siltala Yachts, who have many years of experience in building these types of cruisers. The combination resulted in a well-built yacht with good characteristics. Nauticat 40, LAZYCAT has a split lateral design, is ketch-rigged and the mainmast is 18.4 m above the water surface. LAZYCAT gives options to configure just over 107sqm sails in different combinations making her a very good long-distance cruiser. The hull shape and keel provide comfortable motion in fresh wind on the high seas. She has a powerful bow thruster for port manoeuvers and mooring under full control.

LAZYCATS’S Cozy deck saloon with steering position and navigation table contributes to comfortable sailing at high latitudes and in cool weather. A sprayhood over the front edge of the cockpit with Dropback (canopy cloth hung vertically from the aft edge of the sprayhood) protects the sliding hatch and instrument panels on the sides of the sliding hatch. For good weather, LAZYCAT has a cockpit with a steering position aft of the deckhouse and an aft deck with space for a couple of comfortable deck chairs. In short, a yacht that is perfectly suited for Scandinavian conditions and for long-distance cruising.

The current owner bought LAZYCAT in Holland 14 years – she had had two previous owners. The current owner has mostly sailed in Scandinavian waters. LAZYCAT has a well-kept interior with a good finish. The layout provides two saloon areas and spacious stern and forward cabins with toilet in both. In the forward cabin there is a sea berth, on the port side, above the V-berth.

Unlike most other Nauticat 40s, LAZYCAT has a separate shower in the aft cabin on the port side. The toilet is located on the stb. side. This was one of the few important details which persuaded the current owner to purchase LAZYCAT.

She has a diesel generator, for safe access to electricity, washing machine and shower on board, making daily life comfortable, regardless of whether you are at sea or in port.

LAZYCAT has a summer place in Borgholm on the island of Öland and we can arrange viewing of the yacht by appointment.
