The Swan 47 CB is a classic sailboat designed by Sparkman & Stephens. This is a centerboard version of the Swan 47. The Swan 47 was launched in 1974 and 70 boats were built by the renowned Nautor shipyard until 1985. They were highly regarded cruising yachts known for their excellent sailing performance and comfortable accommodation. The centerboard version of the Swan 47 has a retractable keel that allows for variable draft and makes the yacht well-suited for cruising, even in shallower waters. With the keel down, the Swan 47 CB performs better on upwind sailing and has increased stability.
In terms of sailing performance, the Swan 47 was a successful boat in regattas, highly regarded for speed, agility, and seaworthiness. Swan 47s are not used as extensively in racing today but instead are comfortable and fast cruising yachts, perfect for family sailing.
The lines on a Swan are very characteristic, guaranteeing a yacht with incredible quality, thoughtful details, safety, and sailing pleasure. Like other Swan models, the design and construction is on a different level compared to other production boats, and this can be experienced and appreciated under tough conditions at sea. The boat is easy to sail with a small crew thanks to a well-designed deck layout and excellent balance.
The layout is well thought-out and up to 8 people can live on board. There is a V-berth in the forepeak and an Owner’s cabin in the stern, both of which have separate heads and shower facilities. The salon has generous spaces for you and your friends.
Overall, the Swan 47 is a classic sailing yacht that combines timeless design with performance, making it an excellent choice for your new adventures.
Swan 47 CB, BEATRICE AF ÖCKERÖ, has been renovated and modernised in a very tasteful way by Kungshamns Marininredning AB and the current owner. During the last 20 years there has been a long list of work carried out on this yacht. It started with a reinstatement to the original layout in combination with an improvement of the equipment onboard. A bow thruster was installed and the boat received new cushions, winches and electric gear. The fore cabin was rebuilt and the pipe berths were replaced with a nice V-berth with a new deck hatch. Whilst the interior renovations took place, the hull received a new epoxy treatment and the mast was updated and painted. To the list of major works that has been done you can also add a total renovation of the teak deck and a lot of new equipment.
