Bavaria Yachtbau in Germany, also known as Bavaria Yachts, is one of the world’s most famous boat companies, specializing in both motor and sailing yachts. They began in the late 1970s and became renowned for large-scale serial production of yachts.

Bavaria 46, SVEA, is a model designed by the well-known yacht design company J&J Design, which has created over 350 yacht models for about 60 different boat builders in 28 countries. J&J Design skillfully combines maximum volume where it’s needed on board with hull lines that enhance stability and sailing performance.

This model was built from 2005 to 2009, and during this time, the boat builders at Bavaria were greatly inspired by the yachts constructed at the Swedish Orust boatyards. As a result, the wooden furnishings were exceptionally well crafted, creating a harmonious marine impression. The hull lines, along with the characteristic oval and rectangular portholes in the hull sides and coamings, contribute to the same harmonious atmosphere as the interior.

Unlike other standard yachts, the Bavaria 46 SVEA has a lead keel (depth 2.05m) that provides increased stability and results in better sailing performance. This has been proven by SVEA’s successful racing record in Greece, where she was the overall winner three years in a row in the South Union Rally.

SVEA is easy to handle with a furling mainsail and furling genoa, and the bow thruster provides safe harbor maneuvers.

Bavaria 46, SVEA has, in addition to a saloon with a galley and a navigation area, four double cabins and two toilets with a shower.

SVEA was owned for the first six years by a Greek charter company. Her current owner, who sailed the yacht a few times during this time, liked the yacht a lot and therefore bought it in 2011. The owner upgraded the yacht several times during his ownership and has since sailed in the Greek archipelago during the summers. SVEA is therefore relatively little used and consequently the interior and textiles are in very good condition.

In 2013, grounding damage resulted in an insurance claim, and repairs were completed by the end of that year.

When not sailing, the yacht has been stored ashore at Aktio Marina, Preveza. It is a common way to store yachts on land with the rig up because many owners come from different countries in Europe and want to sail their boat in the Greek archipelago for shorter or longer periods of time.

The contract for the yacht berth on land at Aktio Marina can be taken over by a new owner. The staff at the marina are very professional and ‘service-minded’.
